The Greenwich Art Society recently held its 94th Annual Juried Exhibition at the Bendheim Gallery of the Greenwich Arts Center. There were eight winners chosen at the show, all GAS members, including Richard Byrnes, who won the Barbara Kurtz Memorial Award Best in Show for his painting of "Grapes."
Byrnes and the other winners were presented with their awards at a recent reception held in the Bendheim Gallery. On exhibit were the various entries by GAS artists, including watercolors, oils and photographs. Serving as judge this year was Nora Lawrence, the assistant curator in the Museum of Modern Art's Department of Painting and Sculpture.
Other winners included K. Patricia Thrane, the Stone Studio Award; Ed Wilson, the Jerry's Artorama Award; Jeanne Host, the A.I Friedman Award; Barbara O'Shea, the Charles J. Beran Award; Janice Cianflone, the William Arthur Grupe Award; Ingrid Barzel, the Hyatt Regency Greenwich Award and Donald Landsman, the Marie Matthew Beran Award.
