Land Trust expresses thanks

To the editor:

Thank you to the Greenwich community for such wonderful support of the Greenwich Land Trust (GLT) and our conservation efforts on the 40th anniversary of Earth Day.

We are very grateful to Outdoor Traders for generously sponsoring our Earth Day Clean Up.

Over 40 residents turned out to plant trees, clear a trail, pick up garbage, and remove invasive plants.

Outdoor Traders provided organic cotton T-shirts and reusable bags to participants as well as a generous donation to the GLT.

We also thank the following local businesses who donated a portion of their Earth Day proceeds to support GLT's land stewardship efforts: Pizza Post, Smart Kids, McArdle's, and Splurge.

Additional donations came from AlphaGraphics Greenwich and Gofer Ice Cream.

It is wonderful to live in a community where local store owners and residents truly care about their environment and its protection.
