This ivory fan of German origin, from the early 1900s, was a memento of a Caribbean cruise — where the ship apparently ran aground. Its route is scrawled in ink across the fan. It is part of the exhibition “Exotic Encounters: Art, Travel, and Modernity in the Collection of the Bruce Museum.”
