  • The Rays won the Greenwich Cal Ripken Minor League Baseball
Championship (11-12 year olds) by mounting a tremendous comeback in
the bottom of the sixth inning to defeat the Padres 8-7. Down 7-4
with one out in the final inning, Tyler Andrews got things started
with a bunt single. After a walk to Nick Caridi, the Rays got
consecutive hits from Luke Holey and Chris Gendell to knot the game
at seven. Daniel Caridi followed with a line drive single to center
and Gendell slid under the tag for the winning run. The Rays
finished the season with a 14-1 record and completed their playoff
run with a 4-0 tournament record. The team was maded up of: Back row -   Coaches, David Shulman, Robert Breck, Tom Carroll and Jeff Gendell
