He was a 1932 graduate of Danbury High School. He graduated from the Connecticut State Police Academy in 1942. Mr. Waltz was employed by the Connecticut State Police until retiring in 1969 as a detective sergeant out of Troop L in Litchfield.
After retiring he served a term as Zoning Officer in Newtown. Mr. Waltz was a member of the Connecticut State Police Alumni Association. He was an avid snowmobile rider and boater.
Mr. Waltz is survived by his former wife, Alice P. Thomas, of Watertown; three daughters: Barbara Barber, Roberta Kuegler and Sandra Butterfield/Magro, all of Watertown; a brother, Vernon Waltz of Danbury; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; one niece; and two nephews.
A funeral service will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at 11 a.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 87 Park Lane Road, New Milford.
Family will receive friends in the Colonial Funeral Home one hour preceding the service.
Burial will be in Center Cemetery, New Milford.
