Mrs. Johnson was a graduate of the Hartford Hospital School of Nursing. She volunteered with the Visiting Nurse Association in Washington and worked at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington and Hartford Hospital.
She served in the Army Nursing Corp during World War II.
Mrs. Johnson was an organist at the New Preston and Warren Congregational churches and had been a very active member in Warren. She was also one of the first drivers for Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by three sons, Brad of Warren, Gary of Great Barrington, Mass., and Dennis of Jensen Beach, Fla., and a brother Arthur Torell of Clinton; two sisters Ann Franculli of Litchfield and Jean Johnson of Winnipeg, Canada; and three grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy Parry and Betty Fay.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at 1:30 p.m. at the Warren Congregational Church on Sackett Hill Road. Burial will be private in New Warren Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
