Prior to the birth of her children, she worked for the Bell Telephone Company in New York. After moving to Brookfield with her family in 1947, she was employed as secretary to the Board of Selectman and Judge of Probate for the Town of Brookfield from the mid 1950s until the early 1970s. She was affectionately referred to as Fourth Selectman.
Mrs. Loesch and her husband were charter members of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Brookfield. She was one of the oldest members of the church at the time of her death and was a member of the 60-plus group at the church.
She was a member of the Brookfield chapter of AARP and was an avid bowler. She was a charter member of the South Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Loesch was devoted to her family and was a much-loved friend and neighbor to people of all ages; she enriched the lives of all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Geraldine Hipp of New Milford; a son and daughter-in-law, Walter E and Eleanor Loesch of Brookfield; a granddaughter, Melanie and her husband Jeffrey Silver; and two great grandchildren, Emily and Benjamin Silver of New Milford.
The Green Funeral Home of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
