To coincide with the Greenwich Historical Society's "From Italy to America" exhibit and four months of Italian-American programs and events, Greenwich resident and Ambassador-at-Large Bea Crumbine has arranged for a tour to the town's "Sister Cities" in southern Italy -- Rose in Calabria, and Morra De Sanctis in Campania. The tour, which Crumbine planned in conjunction with the Friendship Ambassadors Foundation, will take place May 18 through 26.
Greenwich residents who sign up for the tour will travel first to Naples then travel south into Calabria for the visit to Rose, and on to Morra De Sanctis in Campania, two of the small towns from where many Italian-American residents in the Greenwich area emigrated. Diplomatic receptions are expected. Afterwards, the group will continue on to explore Pompeii, Capri, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast.
Deadline to sign up for the tour is March 15. For more information, email Mimi Mouakad at email@example.com or call 203-542-0652.
