The 15th annual Garden Concert to benefit Family ReEntry, took place recently at Joan Warburg's Bydale estate in backcountry Greenwich. More than 400 people attended the event, which included a brunch and a New Orleans jazz concert that featured pianist and singer Allen Toussaint.
"Schenk has led the effort to build support for FRE in the corporate community, enabling our programs to reduce recidivism rates more than one-third for our clients," Galvin said.
The Joan Warburg Award "for outstanding leadership in the service of Family ReEntry's mission" was presented to FRE board member Theresa Lantz, the commissioner of the state Department of Corrections.
"Lantz's 36-year career in criminal justice has given her unparalleled credibility in the field," Galvin said.
Family ReEntry supports programs that help those incarcerated transition back into their civilian lives.
