Acme appoints managing director for Europe operation
Acme United announced that Georg Bettin has been promoted to managing director of Acme United Europe. Bettin had been director of office products sales in Europe. He joined the company in 2010, and previously worked at Smead Europe. He replaces Willi Engelsberg, who will provide transitional support and assist in marketing and sales functions.
Fairfield U. event for entrepreneurs, investors
Fairfield University's School of Engineering and the Inventors Association of Connecticut will hold an an event featuring angel investors and entrepreneurs at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Dolan School of Business, on the Fairfield campus. The event, "Prospecting for Funding in 2013," is free and open to the public. Mike Roer, founder and president of the Entrepreneurship Foundation and former executive director of the Connecticut Venture Group, will moderate. The panelists include: Tim Coates, managing director of the new Innovation Eco-System at the Connecticut Technology Council; William Gordon III, angel investor and adviser to tech start-ups; and John Seiffer, president of Angel Investor Forum and business adviser at CEO Boot Camp.
