She was a UConn cheerleader and a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She completed nursing training at Grace New Haven Hospital (Yale-New Haven) while working at Middletown Psychiatric Hospital and Hartford Visiting Nurse Services as a public/home nurse.
Mrs. Meyer's nursing career included that of a clinical nurse educator at Tourow Infirmary in New Orleans, substitute nurse at Masuk High School in Monroe and end-of-life nursing care for many.
In 1970, she chose a second career as a real estate agent and broker, eventually joining Gallery of Homes, V.P. Realty.
She was an avid golfer, and had been a member of Hillandale, Grassy Hill, Oronoque, Brownson, Mill River and Newtown country clubs in Connecticut. She was a member of the Ladies Golf Association at Whitney Farms, Eagleton and PGA National Country Clubs in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Mrs. Meyer is survived by two daughters, Diane Dunn and her husband Richard of Plano, Texas, and Bridget Kellogg and her husband Kenneth of New Milford; two sons, Vincent Jr. MD and his wife Beth of Glen Falls, N.Y., and Christopher and his wife Lillian of Tucson; six grandchildren, Daniel Quantz, Jennifer and Floyd Kellogg, Melanie, Vincent III and Lucille; a brother, James Gentile and his wife Maribeth of Fairfield; a sister, Tere Newbauer and her husband William Jr. of Stratford; a sister-in-law, Florence Bevacqua and her husband William of Trumbull; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
The Spadaccino Community Funeral Home of Monroe was in charge of arrangements.
