This year's competition was fierce, but a dynamic offense and a dominating defense helped the Jacksonville Jaguars earn the title recently of Super Bowl Champions in the Greenwich Flag Football League's girls 10 and under age group.
The Jaguars are coached by Glenville residents Glenn Brogan and Mike Morganti. Brogan says the key to their Super Bowl Championship has been "hard work, a commitment to winning, a lot of fun along the way and overall strong teamwork."
The girls division of the Greenwich Flag Football League began two years ago and has taken off -- it now boasts 120 players and is made up of two age groups, 10 and under and 11-to 14-year-olds. Each division has six teams, and the majority of the girls live and go to school in Glenville.
Now in its sixth season, GFFL was started by Greenwich police officer Dee Fludd. Based on his leadership and help from other supporters, the league has grown from 75 players to more than 1,000 players today.
