Joan Carty, president and chief executive officer of the Stamford-based Housing Development Fund, recently graduated from the NeighborWorks Achieving Excellence in Community Development program offered in association with Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. Achieving Excellence is an 18-month program for executive directors and senior-level staff in community organizations that focus on affordable housing, revitalization or economic development. The Housing Development Fund is Connecticut's largest nonprofit organization funding affordable housing.
Stamford-based AmeriCares has launched the AmeriCares Leadership Council, a group of supporters and business and community leaders charged with advancing the AmeriCares mission. Members will serve as ambassadors for the nonprofit global health and disaster relief organization and introduce new audiences to AmeriCares work in more than 90 countries. Greenwich resident Chip Skowron, AmeriCares board member and managing director at Morgan Stanley, and portfolio manager for FrontPoint Healthcare, will steer the council. Stamford-based World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. has named Eddie Hill senior vice president in marketing. Hill will be responsible for WWE's branding and promotions, television tune-in, pay-per-view events, network affiliate marketing, WWE Studios and market research. Hill has 18 years of experience as a marketing executive in the financial, sports and entertainment industries. He comes to WWE from American Express, where he spent the past two years as vice president and head of U.S. Advertising & Global Agency Management. Before American Express, Hill was vice president of marketing for Nickelodeon and Nick Movies. He also has held positions at ESPN and the Walt Disney Co. Hill has a bachelor's degree from Georgetown University and a master's in business administration degree from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at the University of California, Los Angeles.
